I began drawing when I was able to hold a pencil in my hand, at about the age of two years.  My mother, also an artist, noticed that my drawings were very representational for a young child.  Favorite subjects were animals, especially cats. 

My Cherished Images Art Studio began when my daughters, Nicole and Ronda, were little girls and I had become more involved in the creation of children portraits.  My portrait drawing and painting initially began when I was in elementary school.  I always enjoyed creating life-like drawings of my friends, teachers and famous people I admired, as well as my pets and other animals.

I studied commercial and fine art in Michigan and worked as a technical illustrator prior to re-marrying in 1987 and moving to northwest Ohio, where I now enjoy my livelihood of creating my art in my home-based studio and raising purebred Siberian cats in my home-based Nikarl Cattery.  I also took courses at Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, commuting twice a week from my home in Ohio.
